MTV News - You Hear it First: Regina Spektor - by Alyssa Rashbaum, with reporting by James Montgomery Russian-born singer Regina Spektor learned quickly that to make it in New York, you have to be persistent, and sometimes, you have to bend the truth a bit to get what you want. Hoping to play her very first show, an open-mic night at Manhattan's Sidewalk Cafe, Spektor patiently stood in line wi...

Artisanal rock, soul punk. Feel free NOT to laugh at her, please!
'She's an artist , she don't look back.'
❤❤❤
Jenny was the first song I learned on guitar
Sharing a hug with this wonderful human is in my top 10 moments of my life.
why didnt she never record this?
Saint Stephen with a rose In and out of the garden he goes Country garden in the wind and the rain Wherever he goes the people all complain Stephen prospered in his time Well he may and he may decline Did it matter, does it now? Stephen would answer if he only knew how Wishing well with a golden bell Bucket hanging clear to hell Hell halfway twixt now and then Stephen fill it up and lower down and lower down again Lady finger, dipped in moonlight Writing "What for" across the morning sky Sunlight scatters, dawn with answers Darkness shrugs and bids the day goodbye Speeding arrow, sharp and narrow What a lot of fleeting matters you have spurned Several seasons with their treasons Wrap the babe in scarlet colors, call it your own Did he doubt or does he try Answers aplenty in the by and by Talk about your penny, talk about your ills One man gathers what another man spills Saint Stephen will remain, all he's lost he has regained Seashore washed by the suds and foam Been here so long, he's got to calling it home Fortune comes a callin', Daddy and Roman Singin' that curious sense of their own Can you answer, yes I can But what would be the answer to the answer man
Incredible. What a gem.
Dog and pony Empty file cabinet You never forget You never come back the same Each time you go up in flames Each time you begin to blame You never come back the same Just a little bit more love Oh, a little bit more love Just a little bit more love For me Just a little bit more love Oh, a little bit more love But it's alright Don't cry, my sweet You were born Unto me, I'm torn Unto me, I'm worn Unto me unworn So, I danced my dance And I kissed your hands And I took a chance And we fell into a trance Just a little bit more love Oh, a little bit more love Just a little bit more love For me Just a little bit more love Oh, a little bit more love But it's alright, don't cry It's alright, don't cry It's alright, don't cry My sweet Hey one, two, three One, two, three One, two, three You sitting on the rooftop Me begging you on my knees I stayed in love with you You're just falling in love with me And darling, you know that ain't right So it can never last forever Ever, ever Little brother, little lover Twisted strings of fate There is no clean slate So I'm carting away all of myself In this milk crate And my dog and my pony And my empty file cabinet You never forget You never come back quite the same Each time you go up in flames Each time you begin to blame You never come back quite the same Just a little bit of true love Oh, a little bit of true love Just a little bit of true love For me Just a little bit more love Oh, a little bit more love But it's alright, don't cry It's alright, don't cry It's alright, don't cry My sweet
This is one of my favorite UA-cam videos ever. If i could time travel, i always say this is the time and place i would go back to
Pure Class ❤💃
A gem. Thanks for posting
Here in 2024
Perfect....
So appreciate your videos. I often say if i could time travel for something frivolous i would go to this concert
One of the best "Hairshirt" covers I've seen
Whoever decided to have this song be in the credits of Shrek 2, THANK YOU.
She needed a Baldwin piano to play.
We lost Malcomb yesterday, sure going to miss seeing him😢
I wonder what it felt like, to drop in to a club purely by a chance and stumble into THIS
camera man miss the moment.
Putting your camera down and capturing the blind audio of everyone singing together… actually crying at how beautiful this is
❤❤❤❤😂😂😢😢
That thumbs up from Barack Obama👍means alot
Secret service can't shoot video
Difficult song to do live, but does it with poise. Remember when we had a first family with class? Since then we've had a fat narcissistic teenage girl with a bad spray tan and a senile grandpa that can't tell the kids really don't want to sit on his lap.
Never heard her sound so bad. Hard to watch.
❤
Goosebumps!!
🥹 Thanks for posting this.
500 days of Summer happened to me as well. In my case, she didn’t appear with an engagement ring, instead she appeared with a baby bump (from another guy). Well, it was a tough pill to swallow. After a while, it helped me grow up and learn to embrace my masculinity and not put women on a pedestal.
ha ha
Funny, my school is doing a production of Guys and Dolls. Took me a second to recognise it at the beginning

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Terrible balancing.
hi thanks for the upload do you know the reference of the piano she's playing on?
"Tom walked to her apartment, intoxicated by the promise of the evening. He believed that this time his expectations would align with reality..." an old wise narator idk who😅
This song was released album recording in 2009. Omg I love her 😊
Thank You For Your Service
This is basically when and where the human race has peaked
performing in front of a bunch of parasites must be hard
This is one of my favourite songs, ever. I like this live version better than the studio version; the new version sounds incredible, but I think that it lacks all the emotion that you can feel here. Or maybe I miss this Regina too much
I like how she’s singing to the thieves. It’s great 🥲
♥️
omg she's so beatiful!!!!! 😍
I'm in love. That was awesome
Joseph with a perfect violinist on the wall if you Walt but 10:00 I miss the zoo but to hear how suddenly violin there wow respects vibes violin
